A limited number of custom homes each year, for people who expect it done right. A clear plan before you sign, written standards in every wall, and a view of your build every day.

Coffered and beamed ceilings, wainscoting, paneled walls and built-ins. It is the first thing people notice when they walk into a LaCatalina home. Every photo here is from a home we built. Tap a photo to see it full screen.

Still running a business, traveling, or planning your move to South Georgia for retirement? You do not need to be here to build here, and your time stays yours.

Code is the minimum. Every trade on our job sites works from a written LaCatalina standard and a checklist, and every phase is inspected before the next one starts. All of it comes standard, whatever the size or price.

Most budgets go wrong before the first shovel hits the dirt: a ballpark price, then surprises once the plans and selections catch up. We do that work first, in about 4 to 6 weeks.
It’s also where we both find out if we’re the right match. The plans are yours either way, and if you build with us, your preconstruction fee is credited toward your build.

Land, design and a line-item budget before anything is signed.
Funding and permits, then a groundbreaking with a gold shovel and champagne, and your portal goes live.
A final walkthrough, the keys, and we stay in touch after.
Most homes are finished about 25 weeks after the foundation is complete. You see which phase you are in, and what comes next, in your portal every day.
Lincy Hurtado and Jorge Patchett are co-founders and business partners, and both served in the Air Force with four tours in Iraq. Lincy is the licensed residential builder behind every LaCatalina home and leads design. Jorge, our project manager, runs the job sites day to day.
The military taught us that process is what keeps people safe and promises kept. We brought that to building: written standards, checklists and inspections at every phase, from our first homes in 2019 to the 68th today.
Before any home is handed over, it has to pass the same two questions it did on our very first build.

“We had the pleasure of working with Lincy and Jorge in 2020 to build our forever home and they absolutely knocked it out of the park. Great craftsmanship, design and quality. They stand behind their work. That’s hard to find in this day and time.”
“The building process was smooth, transparent, and well-communicated at every step. Lincy and her team were always available to answer questions, provide updates, and offer helpful insights.”
“This home doesn’t feel “built”—it feels thoughtfully crafted. … Living here, you can feel the difference. This isn’t a cookie-cutter home.”
Yes. We look at your lot first, including wells, septic, utilities, driveway and permits, and price that work honestly before you commit to anything.
Usually, up to the drywall stage. Call us for the actual selections available, or we can share what was planned for that home.
Your 24/7 portal shows photos, selections, budget and your estimated move-in date. If something shifts, the timeline updates and you see it. You also get a written update from us every Friday, and if the site is quiet, the portal shows why: an inspection, materials or weather.
Every home is enrolled in the 2-10 Home Buyers Warranty: 2 years on workmanship, 2 years on plumbing, electrical and ductwork, and 10 years on the structure. We also come back for an 11-month check-up.
You never pay for the whole home upfront. You pay in stages as the work is finished: a 5% deposit when you sign the build contract, then 20% at Base (permits and slab), 20% at Frame (framing through shingles), 25% at Enclosed (systems, insulation, drywall, windows, siding), 25% at Fit-off (cabinets, counters, flooring, tile, fixtures) and the final 5% at Practical Completion. Your portal notifies you before each payment is due. With a construction loan, your lender inspects the work and releases each draw; paying cash follows the same stages.
Either works. Many of our clients pay cash; others use a construction loan. If you are financing, we work directly with your lender on draw inspections so payments stay on schedule.
